11 – 19 June 2022
Join Wine Diva Deb on the Azamara Quest exploring the essence of Spain. Starting in Barcelona, spend your first day of vacation marveling at Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia, rambling down the always lively La Rambla, and soaking up every last bit of this magical region.
From here, we journey to Valencia for a late stay that allows plenty of time to tour its impressive Gothic monuments and City of Arts & Sciences.
Next, we travel to the “City of Cultures,” Cartagena. Once the seat of ancient Carthage, this port city is steeped in over 2,000 years of history in everything from its Roman ruins to its Gaudi-inspired modern art installations. Of course, art and natural beauty abound in this country, like in Malaga. Find some beach time in this coastal paradise or explore the exceptional museum dedicated to the one and only Picasso, who was born here.
Then it’s on to the Mediterranean gateway of Gibraltar. With rich cultural history and stunning seaside views, the region is an eclectic blend of British, Spanish, and North African influences worth exploring.
In Seville, an immersive overnight stay provides plenty of time to discover the architectural wonders of this Gothic city. Visit the ornate Alcázar complex, tour the Seville Cathedral—the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, and the final resting place of Christopher Columbus—and catch a flamenco performance with a side of tapas.
A restorative day at sea spent enjoying our onboard amenities brings you to our final destination, Lisbon, Portugal. Take in the sights and sounds of the city on a sidecar tour or dive into its flavor by sampling the ports of the Douro Valley before heading home.
