Join Wine Diva Deb aboard the Azamara Journey in Lisbon, Portugal for a truly amazing adventure enjoying the west coast of Africa. Setting sail from Lisbon the ship will then make its way to Portimao, where you can sip local wines along the dazzling Praia da Rocha before setting sail for Morocco. Get swept away by the nostalgic romance of Casablanca with a day in port, followed by shopping at the exotic spice-filled souks of sunny Agadir.
Next, you’ll explore the Canary Islands. Sample award-winning wine in Lanzarote, where the one-of-a-kind terroir is influenced by the jet black, volcanic soil. In Gran Canaria, relax on the white sand beaches, or take a walk along the rugged coastline. After two days at sea, arrive on Africa’s Smiling Coast in Banjul, The Gambia, and head to Albert Market for an authentic taste of local life. From the Ivory Coast discover a modern city with its own distinct tropical soul in Abidjan, where open-air markets meet thriving business districts. Then it’s on to Takoradi, Ghana’s beautiful laid-back beachside resort town with an exciting urban street food scene.
Onto Luanda, Angola’s shining capital, you’ll find an exciting mix of UNESCO World Heritage sites, meandering oceanside promenades, and ornate churches before setting sail for Namibia. In Walvis Bay, venture inland for a bucket-list worthy African safari or stroll the Esplanade and see echoes of a German colonial past. From Luderitz, gaze over brightly-colored rooftops to the scenic harbor and cap off your epic journey breathtaking views of the city’s surrounding natural beauty. After another day at sea, we arrive at Cape Town, South Africa, our final destination.
