25 July – 8 August 2022
Join Wine Diva Deb on the Azamara Quest for an intensive voyage of Norway. The voyage begins in Dublin, where you can sample a Guinness and the latest lore at The Brazen head, serving up drink and daydreams for 800 years. Then, it’s a day aboard at sea before arriving in Lerwick where you’ll find some of the world’s best-preserved archaeological sites
—including a 2,000 year-old round tower that’s almost completely intact.
Next comes a late night in Alesund, an architect’s dream, followed by a day in Olden—a world of towering glaciers, cascading waterfalls, and deep mountain valleys. Then, get ready for adventures over the rolling green hills in Vik and the sparkling crystalline glaciers in Eidfjord. With another late-night stay in Rosendal, you’ll have plenty of time to go fishing or kayaking, explore Folgefonna National Park, and visit Baroniet Rosendal, Scandinavia’s smallest castle.
Two more late nights are on the itinerary with the first amidst the trendy architecture of Stavanger and the second in Kristiansand—where you can feast on the freshest seafood at the very picturesque and inviting “Fiskebrygga” fish market.
You’ll arrive for an overnight in Oslo with it’s brightly painted wooden houses and nods to Norway’s maritime history and Viking era. Finally, spend a night at sea sampling fine wines before disembarking after an overnight in Amsterdam.

Dublin, Ireland
![]() |
There’s a story waiting around every corner in Dublin. Spend time in Temple Bar and watch the city come alive, take a ghost tour to discover Dracula’s unnerving connection to Dublin, and behold a view you’ll never forget from the Observation Wheel. Of course, no Irish adventure is complete without a trip to the Guinness Storehouse where you’ll learn the history of Ireland’s most popular stout. |
Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland
| Secluded and seaswept, the Shetland Islands are home to a unique blend of Scandinavian and Scottish culture. Fiddle music floats down streets named to honor the old Norse language. Rocky cliffs and rich farmland are yours to explore over 100 islands that embrace a slower, more authentic pace of life. |
Alesund, Norway
| Just a stone’s throw away from the spectacle of Geirangerfjord, Alesund is renowned for its architecture, where turrets, spires and other whimsical Art Nouveau touches give the town its distinctive character. Tackle the 418 steps to the look out point on Mount Aksla and be rewarded with sweeping views of the charming town, majestic fjords, and rugged Sunmore mountains. |
Olden, Norway
| Travel to a world of towering glaciers, cascading waterfalls, and deep mountain valleys when you arrive in Olden. The most adventurous will want to tackle the Briksdal, a million-year-old glacier that takes you across a wooden bridge for a breathtaking view. Not feeling up to the hiking challenge? Relax in a boat upon an enchanting lake with ancient mountains providing an unforgettable backdrop. |
Vik, Norway
| Vik is a village of simple pleasures. You’ll find breathtaking unobstructed views of the Sognefjord here, as well as friendly locals eager to make you feel right at home. The pace here is slow, the food is delicious, and the historic buildings — including two of Norway’s oldest churches — are fascinating. |
Eidfjord, Norway
| This quiet little hamlet is dwarfed by the outsized scenery that surrounds it: steep fjord walls, sparkling crystalline glaciers, foaming waterfalls, and an endless expanse of mountain tundra traversed by herds of reindeer. |
Rosendal, Norway
| This quaint harbor village sits at the gateway to the vast Hardangerfjord, Norway’s second longest fjord. Rosendal is surrounded by glaciers, rolling green hills, and towering snow-capped mountains. Home to historical treasures from the Middle Ages, Norway’s only perfectly preserved 17th Century room, and a 300-year old rose garden, Rosendal is equal parts breathtaking scenery and a journey back through the centuries. |
Stavanger, Norway
| Stavanger is a fascinating blend of old and new: from the Middle Ages when Vikings ruled the seas to today’s North Sea drilling platforms that have made Norway one of the world’s leading oil producers. |
Kristiansand, Norway
| Settled around 400 AD and formally founded by King Christian IV in 1641, Kristiansand is now a major port, and offers plenty of beaches, salmon fishing, sailing and, of course, the freshest of seafood. |
Oslo, Norway
| Discover the beautiful Tiger City when you arrive in Oslo, Norway’s gorgeous capital. Take in a performance by the National Ballet Company at the new Oslo Opera House, or stroll the Damstredet, a perfectly-preserved slice of Norwegian history where you’ll find wooden houses dating back to the 1700s. Historians will also want to visit Oslo’s many historic vessels, including the Fram and Kon Tiki. |
Amsterdam, Netherlands
![]() |
With more canals than Venice, Amsterdam is a winding wonder of waterways just waiting to be explored. Whether by boat or by foot, learn about the city’s past inhabitants such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Anne Frank. You’ll soon discover there’s so much more to Amsterdam than windmills and wooden shoes. |
