Details of the Ports:
Athens (Piraeus), Greece Aug 01
Occupied since 3000 BC, Athens has a rich history intended to be unearthed by all who visit. Hadrian's Arch, the Temple of Olympian
Zeus, and the Theater of Dionyssos, famed as the finest concert hall in Greece, must be explored. Another "must do" is to tour
the interior of the Acropolis and museum.
Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey Aug 02
Kusadasi is your port of access to an age-old civilization. Ephesus was once the second largest metropolitan area in the Roman
Empire, eclipsed only by Rome herself. Explore this city of construction both monumental and mundane. It was famed for the
Temple of Artemis, one of the wonders of the ancient world; the Library of Celsus, with its thousands of scrolls; and its
amphitheater, with a capacity of 24,000 spectators. But you can also imagine yourself in the sandals of a resident as you
stroll the streets, past marketplaces, and into bath complexes that offered piped-in hot water, massage, and sauna.
Mykonos, Greece Aug 03
Mykonos is living proof that picture postcard destinations do exist. Its many charms include its iconic windmills, fabulous
beaches, and an irresistible traditional town with a maze of twisting streets and alleys originally designed to confuse marauding
pirates. Dazzling sunlight reflects off of whitewashed houses and hundreds of small chapels.
Other adornments include shaded courtyards and balconies lush with flowers, and a lively nightlife that some claim is the best
in Europe. Nearby you can visit the uninhabited island of Delos, birthplace of Apollo, fittingly the god of sunlight, music, and
beauty
Santorini, Greece Aug 04
35.25 degrees north. 25.20 degrees east. Perfection has coordinates. Here on Santorini, you'll find whitewashed houses accented
by roofs of the bluest blue - there's no doubt that azure waters of the Aegean have served as creative inspiration. Among the
many historic sites on the island is the ancient city of Akrotiri, once buried under a thick blanket of volcanic ash over 3,600
years ago.
Chania (Souda),Crete, Greece Aug 05
Inhabited since Neolithic times, there is much to explore in this capital city including archaeological sites, charming villages,
and eccentric neighborhoods. Chania provides not only a glimpse into the past but a look at the future with its unique blend of
Venetian, Turkish and modern architecture. Meander down the cobbled streets to the 16th century church of Agios Fragiskos, which
houses the Archaeological Museum.
Katakolon, Greece Aug 06
This scenic Greek, seaside town overlooking the Ionian Sea is your gateway to the ruins at Olympia, where the Olympics began
in 776 BC and continued every four years for more than a millennium. You can also find one of the most important museums in
all of Greece in Olympia: The Archaeological Museum; its exhibits are rich in Greek mythology and its bronze collection is
perhaps the finest in the world.
Corfu, Greece Aug 07
One of the most beautiful islands in all of the Mediterranean, Corfu casts a magical spell on those fortunate enough to visit
its shores. Silvery olive trees grace the countryside, lemon trees scent the air, vivid blooms catch your eye, and the sapphire
sea against the verdant land is a stunning contrast. Corfu is undoubtedly the greenest island in all of Greece. A leisure stroll
through the narrow alleyways will reveal many local treasures from fine wines to fresh seafood.
Kotor, Montenegro Aug 08 | Aug 09
The town of Kotor is a true gem that can be found nestled on the sparkling Adriatic. Its imposing city walls that zigzag
2 ½ miles up steep mountains add to its rugged charm. There is something for everyone is this town deemed a UNESCO World
Heritage Site: museums, history, monuments, restaurants, medieval architecture, and ancient churches galore. Take a slow
stroll down its narrow streets that have inspired artists for centuries and find the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, a monument of
Roman culture, and one of the most recognizable symbols of the city.
Dubrovnik, Croatia Aug 09
This charming little town has been resting on the Dalmation Coast for some 1,300 years. Once you pass through Old Town's
stone walls, you will be transported into the breathtaking medieval world of Stari Grad. Marble-paved squares, monasteries
and fountains are just a few of the antiquities still standing just as they were over a thousand years ago.
Hvar, Croatia Aug 10
Hvar is the longest and the sunniest Croatian island and one of the most beautiful islands in the world. This island is
unusual in the area for having a large fertile coastal plain, and fresh water springs. Its hillsides are covered in pine
forests, with vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards and lavender fields in the agricultural areas.
Venice, Italy Aug 11 | Aug 12
One of the world's most beautiful cities also happens to be one of its most unusual. Venice is actually made up of over 120
islands in the Adriatic Sea. Because the city is connected by canals instead of streets, a good way to see Venice is on a
romantic gondola ride. The epicenter of the city is St. Mark's Square, where you'll find the 900-year-old Basilica of St. Mark.
